Companionship and outings

Time for conversation, hobbies, shopping and appointments, so life doesn't shrink to four walls.

Loneliness can affect health as much as any illness. Companionship visits give people someone to talk to, something to look forward to and help getting out and about.

What a visit might look like

  • A chat over a cup of tea, or looking through old photos together
  • A walk to the park, a café or along Southsea seafront
  • Shopping, the bank, the post office and other errands
  • Going with someone to GP, dentist and hospital appointments
  • Hobbies such as reading, puzzles, gardening or baking
  • Keeping in touch with family by phone or video call

Companionship can be a visit of its own or part of a wider care package.
