When a shift is uncovered, you need someone who can walk onto the floor and get on with the job. Crown Care Solutions supplies vetted, trained staff to nursing homes, care homes and residential homes in and around Portsmouth, for single shifts, regular lines of work and longer placements.

Who we supply

• Registered nurses (RGN and RMN), with NMC registration checked before every placement
• Senior care assistants who can lead a team on shift and, where trained and signed off, give medicines
• Care assistants and healthcare assistants for day, twilight and night shifts
• Support workers for people living with learning disabilities, mental health needs or physical disabilities

How booking works

1. Tell us what you need. Call or send a request with the role, dates, shift times and any particular skills.
2. We match the right person. We check who is available and has the experience and training your residents need.
3. We confirm in writing. You get the worker’s name before the shift, so you know who is coming.
4. Tell us how it went. Your feedback decides who we send back to you next time.

Short-notice and planned cover

We take bookings for today, for the week ahead and for longer blocks of work, such as covering a vacancy or a period of sickness. Wherever we can, we send the same people back to your home so they get to know your residents, routines and paperwork.

Checked before their first shift

• An enhanced DBS check, including the barred lists for adults (and children where the role needs it)
• Proof of identity and the right to work in the UK
• At least two references, including the most recent care employer
• For nurses, a live NMC registration checked before every placement
• Mandatory training: moving and handling, safeguarding, infection prevention, basic life support, fire safety and food hygiene, plus medication training for anyone who handles medicines
• A face-to-face interview with our team
